Knowing we have a home nurtures within us the sustaining tapestry of security, identity, purpose, perspective, language, tradition and love. It is a fundamental ingredient for any form of prosperity.
I started this project with the Yaseen family six months ago, focused on the transition of refugees to America. Over the course of the project a single word was used repeatedly in multiple ways…Home. It was where they are from, where they are, who they are, and where they are going together. Each of them had a different perspective, what was important to them, and why they are here. The portraits are a composite of images taken both here and in Daraa Syria.
